The collection includes miscellaneous personal documents from prior to his move and letters from Naylor urging him to come to Kirksville, as well as some publicity for the dry goods store in Kirksville.

The paper is 79 pages of text, maps and photographs relating to the two battles and associated events and people. The color photographs are of Kirksville, Vassar Hill and other Adair County sites connected with the battles as they appeared at the time the paper was written in 1975.
