Scope and Contents

A class term paper on The Battle of Kirksville and the Battle of Vassar Hill which Kent Bergstrand wrote and submitted to Dr. David March, Professor of History on October 17, 1975. Biographical Note

Kent Bergstrand was a student at Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University).

Historical Note

On August 6, 1862, a skirmish broke out in Kirksville, Missouri, between Confederate troops led by Colonel Joseph Porter and Union troops under the direction of Colonel John McNeil.
