Battle of Kirksville and the Battle of Vassar Hill Paper

Abstract

Kent Bergstrand wrote The Battle of Kirksville and the Battle of Vassar Hill as a class term paper and submitted it to Dr. David March, Professor of History on October 17, 1975. This paper is 79 pages of text, maps and photographs relating to the two battles and associated events and people. The color photographs are of Kirksville, Vassar Hill and other Adair County sites connected with the battles as they appeared at the time the paper was written in 1975.

Documents, correspondence, and financial transactions detailing the restoration of the Captain Harris House, also known as the Parrish House and Parrish Place, a historical residential building in Kirksville, Missouri. The contents were gathered from the Italianate house at 101 Burton Street in Kirksville, Missouri, during renovations and from records kept by Mary Childers Slone, the owner of the house at the time of the 1970s rennovation.
