Papers, speeches, and publications written by William Torrey Harris on the topics of education and philosophy, as well as correspondence to Harris from educator James Mickelborough Greenwood; Joseph Baldwin, whom he was influential in getting to come to Kirksville to set up the teachers college; Ira Divoll, former state superintendent of schools and city superintendent of schools in St. Louis; and O.P. Davis.

World War II Miscellany Collection
This collection contains items pertaining to World War II (1939-1945), including printed material, maps, and writings. Of particular interest is a log kept by Orville Bowers about bombing missions in Europe. The printed material includes newspapers and pamphlets printed during the war, both internationally and on the American homefront.
Zeigler Family Civil War Letters
Letters written by Samuel Clark Zeigler during military service in Missouri and Arkansas with the 7th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry of the Union Army in the Civil War. Also included is a letter to John Zeigler from a friend (or possibly a relative) serving in North Carolina. It also contains added background information and photos from Zeigler family members.
