Diary written by Flossie (Florence) Tinsman during the years of 1893 to 1894. In the diary, Tinsman gives accounts of her day-to-day life. Tinsman shares details ranging from short accounts of what she did on a given day to longer stories detailing the interpersonal drama and relationships happening in her friend group. The diary provides a snapshot of what life was like for teenagers living in Kirksville during the 1890s.

Biographical Note

Florence Tinsman was born 1878 in Adair County, Missouri to John W. Tinsman (1842-1924)and Eudora Panabaker Tinsman (1846-1887). Florence had three older siblings, one sister, Ida Maud Tinsman (1867-1889) and two brothers Clifford Raphael Tinsman (1870-1923) and Fredrick W. Tinsman (1874-1904). Florence died in 1910 and is buried in Kirksville, Missouri.
