Received Susan's letter of the 27th on the 4th; went out to Uncle Joseph's on Saturday; roads are very bad; has stormed all day; does not think that the army will move this week; if Susan comes down, she can board at Mr. Chipmond's; wants Susan to take the five o'clock train so that he can meet her; Uncle's folks want Susan to stay all summer; Charley is more well; has no more time to write.
