Biographical Note

Ella (Skippy) Skipwith Harrison (April 1915 – August 1987) was born in Danville, Virginia to Donald Harrison and Ella Jackson. Through Ella Jackson, the family is related to the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, which was based out of Richmond, Virginia and Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Ella “Skippy” Harrison attended Kirksville State Teacher’s College from 1937–1941, and stayed in Kirksville after graduation. The following people included in the photos and scrapbook are of unknown relation to Ella, though it is assumed they were friends of Ella.
