Biographical Note

Hazel Gehrke (1900-1991) was life-long resident of Adair County, Missouri, and graduate of Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College (BSEd, 1925) (now Truman State University). She was the daughter of Carl Gehrke and Edna June Crittenden but her exact relationship to the family recorded in the Bible is not known. Her grandfather, Albert I. Crittenden (1841-1919), is not among those named but was of an age to be a grandchild of Iairus and Eunice Crittenden. Albert and his wife Emma Sprague (1840-1905) were both natives of New York.
