Historical Note
The Methodist Episcopal Church's old building was razed in the spring of 1898 and this new one completed at the same location that fall. The lack of landscaping indicates this picture was taken not long after construction was completed, making it one of the later shots in the album. The building in the background is the Methodist Episcopal Church South at the west end of the block (corner of Washington and Mullanix Streets).
