In early January 1968, a number of Lt. Col. James E. Rieger's documents concerning the administration of Camp Doniphan, Fort Sill, OK, were donated by his son, Wray M. Rieger, to the E. M. Violette Museum. Wray M. Rieger followed his father in joining the military and became the captain of Kirksville's National Guard Company K in 1928, serving as the captain of Kirksville's Home Guard in 1940.
